About Me

Hi! I'm Heather and I run Pitter Patter Photography, a newborn photography business based in Honeybourne,Worcestershire.

I have been a qualified photographer for over a decade. My love for photography started as a teenager when I was at secondary school, where I always shied away from the more traditional topics and instead got pulled towards the art based subjects and decided to pursue photography at college. After I qualified, I got my first job as a photographer at a studio in Stratford-Upon-Avon and it didn't take long for me to realise that newborn photography was my real passion.

I started Pitter Patter Photography to capture the precious moments in those first few weeks of your baby's life. As a recent mum myself, I know just how quickly time flies by and how quickly your little one changes.  It is my aim to provide you with photos that you'll treasure and be able to look back on in years to come when your little one isn't so little.

I would describe my style as natural, timeless and delicate. I want to provide you with photos that emphasise the natural innocence and beauty of your newborn. Our session will be relaxed and is entirely baby-led in order to capture all the mesmerising details and allow time for feeding and fussing!

If you have any questions or would like to make a booking then please just drop me an email or call me.

Thank you for taking the time to visit my website.

CoronaVirus Update

Hello

I am excited to say that my studio will be able to open its doors again in December. I have missed seeing so many beautiful babies and cannot wait to welcome you all back to my studio! However, in order to safely re-open I will be implementing a number of changes to how I conduct the photoshoots. As I work closely with newborns, it is my duty to ensure that you and your baby are protected during the photoshoot. In order to do this, I have introduced some extra safety measures:

-       I will be wearing gloves and a medical grade mask (N95) throughout the session.

-       I won’t be providing any refreshments so please feel free to bring your own as a newborn session is 3-4 hours long.

-       All door handles, hard props and floors will be sterilised and disinfected after use.

-       I will only be allowing one session a day to allow me to deep clean before and after each session.

-       Should I start to feel any of the symptoms associated with Covid-19, then I will close the studio for two weeks and you will be invited to rearrange your session after this.

What I am asking of all my customers:

-       If you or your child have been in contact with anyone with a cough or fever or if you feel unwell (even mildly) before your session, please contact me as soon as possible to reschedule. I understand this may be an inconvenience, but it is essential that I do not allow a virus into the studio at this time. Please note: If anyone attending the session appears to have a cough, fever or other symptoms of a virus, I will need to ask you to postpone the session with no exceptions. It is important to let me know in advance if you are feeling unwell so I can reschedule your session to another time.

-       You will be asked to remove your shoes and coat at the door upon arrival and then wash your hands.

-       I will require you to wear a mask (adults only).

-       If you feel the need to cough, please do so into one of the tissues provided and place immediately into the bin.

-       If you become unwell within 7 days after your session, please let me know immediately even if you feel it is only mild.

Thank you for helping me keep my studio a clean and safe environment for myself and all of my clients. If you have any questions, please feel free to ask. I am looking forward to seeing you all and getting back to taking some gorgeous photographs!

Session

A newborn session is around 3-4 hours long to allow for a nice and relaxed time in the studio, with plenty of time to feed your little one and soothe them to sleep when required. Within this time, I will attempt a variety of poses using a selection of props and coloured back drops which compliment the décor you have at home. The session is very much baby-led, some may be more alert than others, prefer different poses or need more milk to settle, therefore no two shoots are the same.

The sessions take place at my home studio in Honeybourne, where there is plenty of parking. Refreshments of tea, coffee and cold drinks will be supplied throughout the session.

A £65 deposit is required upon booking, this is non-refundable and does not include any images or products, it covers the studio time and processing of your images afterwards. If you purchase a photography package later, the deposit will be deducted off the price.

FAQ's

How old should a newborn be for their newborn photography session?

Newborn photography sessions are best done when baby is around one to three weeks old. Of course, sometimes this is impractical for parents and it happens a bit later. Ideally it is best to do them at this time as newborns of this age tend to sleep a lot! This is great as it means a happy baby and gives us more valuable posing time!

Where is your newborn photography studio based?

My home-studio is based in Honeybourne, Worcestershire. Most of my clients are from the Cotswolds and surrounding villages. I also have clients come to me from Stratford-Upon-Avon, Evesham, Worcestershire, Cheltenham and Oxford.

When is it best to book our newborn photography session?

I only book three sessions a week to make sure each of my clients get the flexibility they need. Its obviously impossible to know when your little one will actually arrive so flexibility is key! Because I restrict bookings, I do get very booked up so I recommend booking as early as possible!

When will my images be ready to view?

Where do viewings take place?

Typically viewings take place two or three weeks after the shoot, at my home studio. This allows me time to professionally adjust each image to the highest standards.

Do you provide props for the newborn photography session?

Do I need to bring anything for our session?

I provide everything we need for a newborn photography session. I have a range of high-quality props, hats, headbands, wraps and backdrops to create some beautiful photos for you. Of course, if there's something in particular that you'd like to include then please feel free to bring it!

How do we secure our due date?

Please email me at info@pitterpatterphotography.co.uk or call me on 07920 145845 to secure your booking. It is best to book as early as possible to ensure availability.

Are you experienced with newborns and do you use safe posing techniques?

Yes, I first started photographing newborns over a decade ago and, as a mum myself, I am very comfortable with babies. They are my passion! I always use safe posing techniques and use composite images (Photoshop) when a pose requires it.

Do newborn photography sessions include images of family and siblings?

Sessions include newborn portraits and portraits with family. Typically this will just be parents but if you would like a sibling to be involved that is of course fine.

How long do newborn photography sessions last?

Newborn photography sessions are entirely baby-led and we stop for soothing and feeds if need be. I always say to allow 3-4 hours in case your newborn needs a little extra time to feed etc.

Do you retouch/edit our final images?

All images are carefully edited in my style and spots, dry skin, stray hairs etc are all carefully removed. I never

"over-edit". Your baby is naturally beautiful and it is important not to hide that.

Can I take my images away on the same day?

Any high-resolution digital images ordered, and paid in full, can be taken away on the same day on USB.
